“Outsourcing to a bookkeeping services provider means you get someone who is always looking after this aspect of your business so that you can focus on others,” Irena said.
And a Xero-certified bookkeeper serves as an advisor for that aspect of a business and that means that small businesses effectively have a “champion” to help push them forward in success.
Xero launched a new campaign on social media and television in early 2017 aimed at small business with the tagline “add an advisor and watch the zeroes grow”. The message promoted the strategy that a Xero-qualified bookkeeper or accountant was a “must-have” for small business.
On the advertising industry website Campaign Brief, Xero Managing Director Trent Innes explained the strategy with the stark figure that just over half small businesses survive after five years. However, small businesses that use Xero had an 88 per cent rate of survival on a five-year journey.
“We believe one of the key reasons for that is 92 per cent of small businesses on Xero have an advisor,” Mr Innes told Campaign Brief.

In another move to understand the psychology of small business owners, Xero commissioned a special survey with the findings released in January 2017.
The company surveyed 340 small business owners across Australia and New Zealand and found more than wanted to to be their own boss as one of the top reasons for starting their own business. And almost half wanted a better lifestyle and saw starting a small business as a way to achieve this dream. [LINK https://www.xero.com/blog/2016/12/the-opportunity-in-adversity/]
With these results in mind, Irena said her passion was to help small businesses thrive and using Xero was a savvy decision that would help them stay nimble and on top of their administration.
In particular, Xero is available as an app for mobile devices like iPhones and tablets, further providing ease of use and accessibility.
As more people adopt a mobile-first approach to daily tasks like banking, reading the news, emails and booking appointments, it stands to reason that the ability to complete business-related tasks and check on information is a drawcard – and that is where Xero is ideal for small business owners.

The growing manner of doing business online has also brought forth the idea of outsourcing bookkeeping. Remember, this can be a cost-effective method as it can save time and, in turn, money. A company employing this method may hire a bookkeeper at least once a month in order to keep records up to date. Many small business owners say this allows them to widen their focus on other essential parts of the business, making managing more encompassing. This, in turn, can lead to faster growth for the business.
Here at Irena’s Bookkeeping and Financial Services, we are able to offer a tailor-made bookkeeping services plan.
